Welcome to the Department of Manipuri. It was founded in 1958. The Department has five faculty members at present. Both B.A. Pass and Honours Courses are offered under Manipur University. The papers taught are Wareng Sareng amasung Grammer (1st Semester), Drama, Novel amasung Warimacha (Second Semester), Introduction to Linguistics & Manipuri Language (Third Semester), Sahitya Naneirol (Fourth Semester), Fifth Semester (three papers)- Kaibya amasung Drama, Bharatki Anubat Shaitya and Manipuri Sahityagi Itihas Sixth Semester- Ariba Manipuri Sahitya, Manipuri Culture, and Folkloristics and Manipuri Folklore .
