Welcome to the Department of English. It was founded in 1958. The Department has five faculty members at present. Both B.A. Pass and Honours Courses are offered under Manipur University. The papers taught are English Literature : History, Poetry and Drama (1st Semester), British Fiction (Second Semester), Western Criticism (Third Semester), Linguistics and English Language (Fourth Semester) Fifth Semester (three papers)-20th Century British English, Indian Writing in English and Literary Theory and Sixth Semester (three papers)-North East Literature, Commonwealth & American Literature and European Literature in Translation .
