Welcome to the Department of Zoology. It was founded in 1964. The Department has eight faculty members at present. Both B.Sc. Pass and Honours Courses are offered under Manipur University. During 2011-2015 with Dr. R. K. Radhakishore Singh as Principal Investigator, the Department undertook a major Biotech Hub Project under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India titled “Studies on bio-ecology and chemical analysis of edible insects in Manipur”. P.G. Courses in Life Science was opened from 2016. Manipur College is the only College under Manipur University to offer P.G. Course in Life Science. There are ten papers in B.Sc. (Hons.) and six papers in P.G. Course.
The recent achievements of Department: (1) Wanthoinganba Chenglei of the Department stood 3rd position in B.Sc. (Hons.) in Zoology in 2017 in Manipur University, (2) Gracy of the Department stood 6th position in B.Sc.(Hons) in Zoology under Manipur University in 2016.
